General information

And now seriously, here is a list of tips that can either help you win the game or make things easier:

  • Throughout the game, keep Rating Materia equipped and apply Rating to all enemies to determine their weaknesses.
  • Change the quick link for different party members from the Battle Settings menu.
  • Get the Tier 2 Cap Skips from the Colosseum Challenges (Chapter 9) and equip them as soon as possible via the Battle Settings menu mentioned above.
  • Use overpowered abilities like Cloud's Triple Slash and Counterstance to take out multiple enemies at once or counter stronger enemies.
  • watch out forweapons expertbecause each new weapon gives you a new ability to use in battle.
  • After you've been able to learn enemy skills (Master of pantomime) often use Algid Aura. It's a very easy way to damage enemies in a wide area over time.
  • During your hard gameNOPlay two chapters at the same time. Progress is transferred from one to the other only after the episode ends.
  • Please be patient while playing the chapters on Hard difficulty. Some battles will prove difficult, especially if you choose to do itultimate weaponPerfomance. Analyze the enemy's weaknesses and your strengths. Balance the odds in your favor.

The meaning of matter

Since the items were disabled in your second game on Hard difficulty, you should focus on leveling up Materia in your first game. Materia is like magic and simply provides a way to heal yourself, revive others, attack enemies with elemental attacks, and greatly boost your stats without having to use items. Almost all Materia pieces can be leveled up simply by equipping them with your weapons and armor, and you get AP by fighting enemies that will help you level up.

Here are the things to focus on to level up:

  • pedometer– While at first it may seem useless as it only counts your steps, this materia turns intoMateria AP hochonce you have walked 5,000 steps equipped with it. This will help you level another piece of Materia you bind it to at double the speed. You can find this Materia in Chapter 14 in the garden of Aerith's house.
  • healing matter– You will want this one equipped with you on any difficulty, as it allows you to cast Cure to heal yourself. After leveling up this Materia sufficiently, you can cast Curaga, which heals a significant amount of health. Once you've upgraded your healing substance, you can highlight "Heal" in the Spells section of your command menu and press the right arrow to select a more powerful magical healing agent.
  • resuscitation material– This Materia allows you to revive your party members when they fall. As you level up, you can revive a party member and fully restore their health.
  • Material per PNa - It is important to max this Materia for Hard difficulty, as it is more difficult to recover MP on this difficulty. Starting a chapter with more MP can help you significantly, as you have more opportunities to heal and cast magic.
  • Material HP up– This increases the total Health (HP) you have when this item is equipped.
  • prayer material– This Materia provides a way to restore part of HP without having to use MP, which will be very useful in your game on Hard difficulty.
  • expand subject– Attaching this Materia to the Heal Materia allows you to heal your entire party when cast on yourself, which is extremely beneficial on Hard difficulty. You can also attach other things to it, e.g. B. Fire material to unite groups of enemies at once with a magic/elemental attack. You can find this materia in chapter 9 in the tunnel in the third robotic arm puzzle.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE – Unlock all achievements (41)Obtain all nine pairs of bride candidates.

Wedding outfits are tied to choices in various chapters, most notably Chapter 3, Chapter 8, and Chapter 9. In your first game based on your choices, in Chapter 9, Tifa, Aerith, and Cloud wear a specific outfit based on the choices you make in created chapters 3, 8 and 9. Then after completing the game you will have to go back and repeat part of the game at least 2 more times to make other choices and get the remaining six outfits. At the end of the service description you will find a recommendation on how to approach this service most efficiently.

Below is each character and the bride-to-be outfits associated with them:

Tifa (Chapter 3) -The elections are linked to theDiscovery Quest "Alone At Last", available upon completionall side missionsin Chapter 3

  • Blue dress. Obtained by: 1) not doing all side quests or 2) choosing the Adult option when Tifa asks what to wear.
  • chinese dress. Obtained by selecting the Sporty option when Tifa asks what to wear.
  • Kimono. Obtained by selecting the Exotic option when Tifa asks what to wear.

Aerith (Chapter 8) options are tied to altitudeside missionscompleted in Chapter 8.

  • simple pink dress. Complete between 0 and 2 side quests in Chapter 8.
  • pink dress. Complete between 3 and 5 side quests in Chapter 8.
  • Red dress. Complete all 6 side quests in Chapter 8.

Cloud (Chapter 9) - Options are tied to side quests completed in Chapter 9

  • Black dress with white ribbons.. Complete 0 side quests in Chapter 9.
  • White/black dress with tiara. Complete set 2 of side quests (Burning Thighs, The Price of Stealing, Scissor Strike)
  • Blue/black dress with black ribbon. Schließe Set 1 der Nebenquests ab (Fiery Thighs, The Party Never Stops, A Body of Dynamite)

It is important to note that the gamesaves your selection after completing the chapter and ONLY IF you have completed the chapter, allowing you to jump from chapter 3 to 8 to 9 as you play. To be clear, you have to start in Chapter 3 and make choices there, make choices in Chapter 8, and then make a series of choices in Chapter 9. That meansThe game will not register a bridal outfit as "received" until you see the outfit in Chapter 9, based on the choices you made in Chapters 3, 8, and 9. Luckily, after completing Chapter 3, you can skip to Chapter 8 via Chapter Select, you don't have to play Chapters 4-7 to do so. Perfomance. You must then continue playing from Chapter 8 until you see the character in the Chapter 9 outfit, and record the progress of that outfit in the pause menu under "System" and "Game Log".

Another important note is that you don't have to play through the entirety of Chapter 9 to record your progress. For example, when you first see Tifa in the carriage in Chapter 9, the game actually records her dress in the pause menu below "System and "Replay Record" at that point, and it will be the same when you first play later in this chapter Let's see Aerith and Clouds' clothes, after registering them you can go back to chapter 3 and work on the remaining clothes without having to finish chapter 9.

Below is the most efficient way to do this (in only 3 games), you need to do the following:

Playback 1(View All Movies):

  • Complete all side missions in Chapter 3 and choose Sporty or Exotic.
  • Complete all side quests in Chapter 8 and unlock the beautiful red dress for Aerith... just like in the trailer!
  • Complete a series of side quests in Chapter 9.

Spiel 2(playback in hard mode):

  • Complete all side missions in Chapter 3 and choose the other option between "Sporty" or "Exotic".
  • Complete 3 side quests in Chapter 8 (or 5 if you do hard play to get more Manuscripts - "A Hero Verified" does not reward Manuscripts upon completion, so don't enter this one).
  • Complete the other side quests in Chapter 9.

Spiel 3(Fast Playback)

  • Don't complete any side quests in Chapter 3.
  • Don't complete any side quests in Chapter 8.
  • Don't complete any side quests in Chapter 9.

To get all the Manuscripts while playing hard mode in Chapters 8 and 9 without "doing" all the side quests, just complete them and don't turn them in. It does not count towards the side quest completion count while the Manuscript is awarded by defeating the side quest bosses.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE – Unlock all achievements (42)Complete all Whack-a-Box challenges on Hard difficulty.

Below is a video that illustrates a good route to complete the challenge. Use the default LB + X connected ability - Braver to destroy 1500 point boxes more easily.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE – Unlock all achievements (43)Complete all pull up challenges.

The drop-down mini-game becomes available after completing the Waiting Heart side quest in Chapter 14. Please referbest in businessfor more information on this side quest.

Since the pattern changes with each challenge, remembering the order "up, down, left, right" instead of "Y, A, X, B" for example can help as it helps you remember which button to press . without having to remember the position of the symbol above it.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE – Unlock all achievements (48)Reach level 50 with a character.

This achievement is unlocked from the start when playing on Hard mode, as EXP gained is doubled and AP gained is tripled. However, if you want to speed up the process, complete a Shinra VR Simulator Battle Challenge in Chapter 16, which grants theErw. MaterialA.

Use: Level 50 is the limit of this first part of the remake.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE – Unlock all achievements (49)Deals 300% damage to a stunned enemy.

When you look at this achievement after you finished the game, you probably thought...wait, I did over 600% damage to a stunned enemy in chapter 18, is this achievement bugged? No it is not. You just have to do it the "legitimate" way.

The easiest boss for this is Fat Chocobo on Normal/Hard difficulty so that he has enough HP to survive in Chadley's VR missions (seriously, don't just try or he'll kill you). To increase an enemy's stagger percentage, you can 1) use Tifa's Y abilities, 2) use Tifa's True Strike ability (seeweapons experthow to get it) and Aerith's Ray of Judgment (see alsoweapons expertto find out how to get it). You get the necessary weapon for Tifa in Chapter 16, so you can talk to Chadley and start the challenge any time after that.

Before the enemy staggers, 1) use Unbridled Force twice to charge Tifas Y Omnistrike, then use Rise and Fall to prime her for when she goes into Stagger mode and charge 2 ATB bars, and 2) prime Tifas Beam of Judgment. So Aerith has 2 ATB bars.

Just have Fat Chocobo go into Stagger mode, use Rise and Fall (+30% Stagger Damage), use L2/R2 Ally Commands for Aerith to use Ray of Judgment (+20% Stagger Damage), and hit the Fat Chocobo continues with Tifas X. attack to charge up the ATB meter and use True Strike (+30% Stagger damage) 3 times.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE – Unlock all achievements (50)Complete all combat reconnaissance reports.

Chadley will be found at all "City Stops" throughout the game: Chapter 3 (Sector 7 Slums), Chapter 8 (Sector 5 Slums), Chapter 9 (Wall Market), Chapter 14 (Sector 5 Slums), Chapter 16 (front of Shinra VR Simulator) and while playing Chapter 17 (Hojo's Lab). There are a total of 20 battle news reports. Combat simulations are affected by difficulty, so playing on Easy lowers the difficulty significantly.

Below is a list of all Battle Intelligence Reports and how to obtain them:

Monster war Pt. 1

Rate 2 types of enemies. You get rating stuff, equip it and use it (A > Abilities > Rating with 1 ATB bar) on 2 enemies to discover their weakness.

Magic Elements Pt. 1

Hit vulnerable enemies with all 3 magic elements: Fire, Ice and Lightning (1 time per element). You'll need to get the Materia for each element, equip them, and use them on enemies that are vulnerable to that element (use Assess to find out).

The stunning effect pt. 1

Apply unique abilities (Y abilities) to staggered enemies and charge the ATB meter 10 times. When an enemy is staggering, use Y abilities to charge up the ATB gauge (Cloud's Operator Mode, Tifa's Spinning Uppercut, or Barrett's Overload).

The stunning effect pt. 2

Stagger 15 types of enemies. You will of course fill this in as you progress.

Combat simulation: Shiva

The stunning effect pt. 3

The stunning effect pt. 4

Stagger 40 types of enemies. It will fill up naturally as you progress.

If you're having trouble finding enemy types, you can take part in some of the optional battles in Corneo's coliseum in Chapter 14 and assess all the different enemies you fight. After completing this, you can visit Chadley and start working on theMaster of pantomimePerfomance.

weapon skills

Acquire all 16 weapon skills. Well, 16 weapon skills isn't everything (there are 24 in total), but it will be enough to complete this intelligence report. Simply increase weapon proficiency to 100% to unlock their abilities (seeweapons expertfor more informations).

PM consumption

Master all 12 types of magical matter. Max out Magic Materia (help yourself by linking it to AP Up Materia if needed), although by the end of the game you'll have maxed out most of them and Hard mode should be enough. The optional battles in the Corneo Colosseum in Chapter 14 are a great place to level up. These are the 12 compartments:

  • healing matter
  • cleaning supplies
  • resuscitation material
  • fire matter
  • Eismaterial
  • lightning matter
  • Windmaterial
  • poison matter
  • Barrierematerial
  • binding material
  • Subversionsmaterial
  • question of time

Defeat monsters of 10 unique types. This should fill up naturally as you go.

Combat simulation: Bahamut

Defeat Bahamut to get Bahamut Summoning Materia. You will unlock Bahamut after completing Battle Intelligence Reports 1 through 19. This boss can be quite difficult. So if you are struggling, it is recommended to try this fight on easy difficulty.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE – Unlock all achievements (51)Learn all weapon skills.

To learn a weapon skill, a weapon's skill must reach 100% of the weapon's unique skill. This bar can be seen in the weapon menu.

To improve weapon mastery, simply use the weapon's specific ability in battle. To do this, check what special ability the weapon you are carrying has and in battle press A > Abilities > and use the specific ability. Each skill "levels" up differently, but it's at least 10% per skill use. It is possible to use a skill multiple times in the same battle to increase its power level.

You can always go through and get Chapter Select after beating the game.
Reinforced Staff - ATB WardThis can be obtained from a purple chest in Chapter 17. It is at the very beginning and is hard to miss for all to see.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE – Unlock all achievements (52)Learn all enemy skills.

To learn enemy skills, you need to fill out Intelligence Report #16 (seesecret agentfor more info) and get the Enemy Ability Materia. If you're equipped and an enemy hits you with a specific skill, you'll learn it and be able to use it as long as you're equipped with enemy skill materia. You can track the enemy skills Cloud has learned by pressing A in combat and selecting "Skills". All of the enemy abilities that you have learned below with this Materia are listed in this section.

There are four enemy abilities to learn and recommendations on where and how to obtain them:

spirit siphon

Learned from Phantom while using Essence Drain. Found in:

Chapter 14. (Missing Children side quest, you will fight a group of them in the graveyard and it is easy to get)

Chapters 16 and 17. Virtual reality simulations of Shinra Tower. Found in the four-star Cloud/Tifa/Barrett/Aerith vs. SOLDIER Trainees challenges.

Self-destruction

Learned from Varghidpolis or Proto Trypapolis (summoned by Trypapolis) when using Apoptosis. Found in:

  • Chapter 14. Chance encounters on the collapsed highway.
  • Chapters 16 and 17. Virtual reality simulations of Shinra Tower. Found in the four star challenge "Team Three vs. Team Ragbag".

Learned from Bomb while using Apoptosis. Found in:

  • Chapters 9 and 14. The Colosseum Challenge "Team of Two vs. Team Payback".
  • Chapter 17 Hard Mode. A new set of Shinra VR simulations will be available in Hojo's Lab. Found in the Team of Three vs. Monsters of Legend challenge.

Learned from Smogger when using Self Destruct. Found in:

  • Chapters 8 and 14. Random encounters in the junkyard of Sector 5 Slums.
  • Chapters 16 and 17. Virtual reality simulations of Shinra Tower. Found in the four star challenge "Team Three vs. Team Ragbag".

fiery aura

Learned from Cerulean Drake when using Icy Aura. Found in:

  • Chapter 3. Side quest "I just got back from the graveyard."
  • Chapter 11. Story quest path in Railway Graveyard after defeating Ghost boss.
  • Chapters 9 and 14. The Colosseum Challenge "Team of Two vs. Team Payback".

Bad breath

Learned from Malboro when he uses bad breath. Found in:

  • Chapter 17. A new set of Shinra VR simulations will be available in Hojo's lab. Found in the Team of Three vs. Monsters of Legend challenge.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE – Unlock all achievements (53)Defeat a Malboro.

After beating the game, a new set of virtual reality simulations of Shinra will be available in Hojo's lab (Chapter 17). You can always load it and switch to VR simulation. To get to the Shinra VR challenges, start Chapter 17 and take the elevator to the main level of Hojo's lab, you will fight some unknown entities and then your party will clear some debris out of the way. After that, you'll meet Chadley, who will tell you that he needs your help with his newly remodeled combat simulator, also located on the main floor of the lab.

Malboro can be found in the Team of Three vs. Monsters of Legend challenge. Even if you load the chapter on Easy or Normal difficulty, you will face enemies in the challenge on Hard difficulty (therefore no items can be used).

You should make sure everyone in your party has Restoration Materials and Healing Materials, and it's also recommended that Cloud Magnify Materials and Healing Materials link together so that when Cloud heals himself, the rest of the party will also be healed. .

You will face enemies in this order:

Eye

  • This fight shouldn't be problematic, it escalates pretty quickly.

Tonbeere

  • Similar to the fight against Tonberry during the side quest in Chapter 14, the AI almost always dodges the chef's knife. Avoid coming face to face with him and you shouldn't kill him in one hit, always try to attack him from behind.

Gigante

  • Similar to how you fought the Type 0 Behemoth during the Chapter 14 side quest. Paralyze him by focusing on the lower and middle parts of his body and hitting him hard when he staggers. Don't hit him with magic as this will 1) be ineffective, 2) go into a "Rampage" state for a short time and be extremely difficult to survive.

eye + tonberry

  • Not much different than one-on-one battles. Focus the Boom and kill it as quickly as possible, as it will grow quickly if you ignore it and self-destruct your party.

Illness

  • This is possibly the simplest battle in the simulation. Its only dangerous attack is bad breath. Get hit once with the enemy skill materia equipped to get the bad breath ability (seeMaster of pantomimefor more information) and dodge him the following times. When thrown it will aim at you and follow you for a short time, if you can move without it following your movements just get behind it and surely hit it from behind.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE – Unlock all achievements (54)Defeat the Pride and Joy prototype.

The Pride and Joy Prototype is a boss you must defeat in a Shinra VR challenge called Three-Person Team VS Top Secrets. To unlock this challenge you must complete all Colosseum challenges and all previous Shinra VR Battle challenges. The tricky one might be the coliseum challenges, as you can only do Aerith's right after defeating Hell House in chapter 9, as it won't be available for the rest of chapter 9 or chapter 14 later on when you play the game up Difficult if you haven't already done so.

The more chapters you've previously completed on Hard difficulty, the better, as you'll have more Manuscripts, more Cores unlocked, and therefore more powerful weapons. This battle challenge can only be completed on Hard difficulty, even if you play the chapter on an easier difficulty.

This is the recommended configuration for this challenge:

Clouds

Weapon (Zwillingsstachel): Healing, MP Up, HP Up

Armor (Supreme Bracer): Elemental Ice, Revival

Accessories: Champion belt

Tifa

Weapon (Mythril Claws): HP Up, MP Up, Heal, Barrier, Rebirth

Armor (Serrated Bracer): Elemental Ice, Resilience

Accessories: Champion belt

Luft

Arma (Guard Stick): Tiempo, Barrera, MP Up, Magic Up, HP Up

Armor (Rune Bracer): Magnify Heal, Revive (Magnify Heal allows healing abilities to affect (heal) all 3 members of your party)

Accessories: Healing Carcanet

During the Team of Three VS Top Secrets VR Challenge you will face these enemies:

Shiwa

The elemental ice link on the armor makes you immune to ice attacks, so it'll be a walk in the park.

fetter Chocobo

The easiest boss here, nothing but the VR simulation. Simply more HP.

Leviathan

Use Manaward when it's using Tidal Wave and you can't move it in time.

Bahamut

The hardest fight in the game. When the count drops to one, Bahamut unleashes Megaflare, dealing 9999 magic damage to all 3 of your party members. You can only survive by staggering him in time (quite impossible, although it's manageable in the second megaflare), using Manaward or Manawall (Barrier Materia) if he arrives in time, or having Reprieve (if you're hit by a deadly spell or attack survive with 1HP) on level 6 weapons (hence the choice of weapons). Save Limits (Ascension and Dolphin Flurry) to finish off Ifrit as quickly as possible when he spawns.

Prototype of pride and joy

And surprise! It's actually not the hardest boss in the game... surprising, right? Fight is similar to Malboro, get on his back as much as possible and take him out of the safety of being behind him.

After defeating the Pride and Joy prototype, you'll get the Twilight of the Gods, an accessory that allows the party member who equips it to go into battle with their Limit Break gauge maxed. This is very useful for playing in hard mode.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE – Unlock all achievements (55)Complete all chapters on Hard difficulty.

You have access to Hard difficulty after beating the game on any difficulty: Classic, Easy, or Normal. It's not a regular second game on a higher difficulty level, but can be played linearly from start to finish or by manually selecting chapters. It's more or less the same story as the normal game, so the cutscenes can be skipped entirely if you want to finish this game faster.

From the pause menu, you can choose System, then Chapter Select, and play Hard difficulty levels at any time and in any order after beating the game for the first time. Selecting "System" and then "Play Log" from the pause menu will keep track of how many chapters you've completed on Hard difficulty, but won't tell you exactly which chapters.

  • On Hard difficulty, you cannot use items, MP does not recover when sitting on benches, and enemies are stronger.
  • Completing main objectives and bosses will automatically award Hard difficulty manuscripts, but this also applies to side quests in certain chapters (side quest manuscripts to look out for are listed below). These are bound to the character and grant 10 SP each for upgrading weapon cores.
  • Make sure everyone in the group hasresuscitation material, and refuelHP up and MP upthemes too. They can be bought in different places, but for example the Materia trader in Wall Market has them.
  • When fighting melee bosses (Turks - Reno, Rude - Rufus Shinra and Sephiroth, among others) abuse theresilience. It will make your life easier.
  • Since sitting on benches doesn't restore your MP on Hard difficulty, use your MP sparingly - don't waste it! There are a few ways to recover MP. Destroying Shinra Crate is the most popular way to regain MP, and you can also save your game and reload after destroying a Shinra Crate to spawn again and get more MP. Aerith's Soul Drain ability can also drain MP from enemies in battle. It is also recommended to equip yourselfprayer materialall party members to heal the party without consuming MP.
  • Useexpand subjectInhealing matter, allowing you to heal your entire party with a single heal when you need to use MP to heal yourself.
  • If you want to reset your weapon upgrades and a signed *weapon SP, perhaps to reconfigure the weapon to have materia slots than it currently has for other abilities, you can always join Chadley in Chapter 3, 8, 9 or speak 14 (along with whatever other chapter you encounter him in, like at the end of Chapter 4) and have him reset those abilities.

Chapter 3- Completing the "Rat Problem" side quest earns Cloud the title "The Art of Swordplay vol. V' Manuscript, which you can use to further improve your weapon. Tifa can also obtain a manuscript by completing the side quest "On the Lookout".

Chapter 4The bike mini-game can be skipped (and thankfully you can). Roche doesn't give scripts for him being defeated in this scene (although he will later in the chapter if he defeats him), so don't miss out!

Chapter 8- It is possible to get four Manuscripts for Aerith in this chapter by completing the Guns on a Rampage, Kids on Patrol, Angel of the Slums and Paying Respects side quests, although their completion is entirely from depends on them if you want to further improve their weapons. Cloud has no winnable manuscripts in this chapter.

Chapter 8– If you fight Rude towards the end of the chapter, you should switch characters immediately if he focuses his attacks on you. If you continue fighting as a character where he focuses on attacking, he will quickly defeat both Cloud and Aerith. Switching to non-attacking character and taking a few hits will disorient Rude and make him run around.

Chapter 9- Completing the side quests "The Price of Heist", "Scissors Counterattack" and "A Body Made of Dynamite" will award Cloud Manuscripts, which you can use to further improve your weapon. However, you cannot complete all three side quests in a single game, as they are available based on the specific choices you make in the chapter. For this reason, it is recommended that you select the "Set 2" of detailed quests inbest in businessas this allows you to get 2 Manuscripts instead of 1.

Chapter 9's Hell House is a boss that you may have more trouble with. You may run out of mana when using the medium or high version of elemental spells, so it's important that you always use the lowest one (4 MP consumption) as that's enough, don't use magic in chapters. 9 by then and also have MP Up Materia equipped. When he raises his shields, start hitting his arms (it may be easier to switch to Aerith and use ranged attacks on his arms) to break the shield, and when the shield then breaks, hit him immediately with the right elemental spell. When he throws Tornberry onto the battlefield, hit her with a medium to high level spell, a multi-target ability, or break through the cloud line and quickly eliminate her. In the third and final phase of the fight, make sure Aerith has "Planet Protection" attached to her Limit Break and use it when the Sweeper and Cutter spawn to make you immune to most attacks and allow you to focus on defeating the Sweeper and the Cutter quickly refocus on Hell House. And just to remind you:

  • When it glows red, hit it with ice.
  • When it glows white, hit it with fire.
  • When it glows green, hit it with lightning.
  • When it glows yellow, hit it with the wind.

Chapter 11Eligor's second boss can be difficult on hard mode. If you get stuck, try these tips:

  • Eligor is weak to Ice, so equip Elemental Materia+Ice on Cloud.
  • Eligor becomes weak against Wind in his second phase, so equip Aerith with the Materia Elemental + Wind.
  • In the second phase, it will throw "reflection" at your party members. It doesn't allow characters to heal other characters with normal spells (abilities like Pray still work), but Reflect's effects are lost on death. So you can let your characters die once and revive them to make the fight easier. It's a bit counterintuitive, but it might help.

Chapter 14- By completing the Tomboy Bandit side quest, Cloud will receive a Manuscript that he can use to further improve his weapon. Additionally, completing the side quests "Corneo's Secret Lair" and "Missing Children" on Hard difficulty will award Manuscripts for Tifa, and completing the side quests "Malicious Idiots", "Chocobo Search" and "Underground Menace" will award Barret's Manuscripts , although they are completed you have a choice depending on whether you want to continue improving your weapons.

Chapter 17Hojo Lab's VR simulations have nice rewards, but they're heavy. You can get some Manuscripts to increase and complete weapon statsultimate weapongrants you the Twilight of the Gods, an accessory that allows you to participate in all battles with the Limit Break bar maxed out. Combat is the most difficult in the game, but accessories will make playing Hard mode much easier.

Chapter 18The bike minigame is again skippable (and thankful you can) - the boss mechanic doesn't give scripts for defeating it, so you're not missing ANYTHING.
